Speaking Goalz
I am as desperate to speak Japanese well as Chihiro is desperate to eat this onigiri. So what are the steps I should take for me to get there? Well, I am planning to: -Go to office hours at least once a week (twice a week would be optimal): this is so I can ask questions not only about pronunciation and intonation, but about reading, writing and checking up as well. I need to do this because I am unavailable to go to our weekly language table that provides valuable listening and speaking practice. -I'm gonna watch some anime! That shouldn't be too hard haha. But this time I'll focus on shadowing the characters I admire and want to sound like. -Finally, I'm gonna try to sleep well. It may seem like an indirect method to speaking well, but if you have a good nights rest, you can show up to Japanese class with open eyes and ears to get the best learning experience possible. PE Reflexion
Hello world, this is me logging in to post my final blog as a Japanese 101 student. Let us begin: Overall, I am quite happy with the goals I set in the beginning of the year and my follow-through to achieve those goals. I got a decent amount of sleep every night (haha at least for a college student), which I think positively influenced my stress and happiness levels. I noticed when I was getting more sleep, I am more attentive in class and I participate more often, which I think is making me learn better. In terms of going to office hours, there were some weeks that I went to only once, and some weeks that I went twice. Many of the times, I didn't have a plan on what to do during the office hours. This did not end up being a problem though because I would work on exercises with the professors that I ended up needing practice with. For example, I would work on dict-a-conversations quite a bit.
